AB Christian Learning Center is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the educational journey of children aged 4 to 12. We do this by providing high-quality after-school and summer learning programs in Fort Worth, TX. We also support parents and caregivers as vital partners in their child’s education.
Our mission is clear: to serve low-income families at no cost, ensuring that all children have access to enriching out-of-school time experiences. We proudly serve Fort Worth and the surrounding cities and Tarrant County.

Empowering Local Families: Quality Education in Fort Worth's Stop Six Neighborhood
AB Christian Learning Center proudly serves families in their own neighborhoods, operating our after-school program from the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center located in Fort Worth’s historic Stop Six neighborhood.
Our dedicated team provides children with essential tools for a quality education, ensuring equal opportunities for success in school and life. We approach the challenges faced by our students holistically, involving families, schools, and the community as integral partners.

Parent involvement in a child’s education is consistently found to be positively associated with a child’s academic performance. At AB Christian Learning Center, we believe that “all” parents want to be involved in their children's education and want what is best for their children. We believe that by working as partners with families, we can inform, support, and empower them, ensuring our shared goal of academic success for “all” children is met.

Loretta Burns is the Founder and Executive Director of AB Christian Learning Center, and has held that position since 2006. As Executive Director, she is responsible for developing organizational policies and procedures, as well as academic enrichment out-of-school-time programs for vulnerable youth.
Recognizing the need for parents to become more engaged in their children’s education, Ms. Burns developed a transformative parent engagement program, “Power of 7”, designed to empower families to become co-partners in their children’s education. Prior to founding AB Christian Learning Center, Ms. Burns worked as a federal civil servant and served in the United States Air Force, where she received an honorable discharge. She gained education experience teaching high school for four years and as an adjunct professor at Tarrant County College for 10 years.

Academic Credentials and Community Engagement
Ms. Burns holds a BS in Business Management, as well as an MS in Interdisciplinary Studies, both from the University of Texas at Arlington. She currently serves as President of East Fort Worth Montessori School’s Board of Directors, a member of the Early Learning Alliance, Read Fort Worth Executive Council, and the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) Academic Community Partnerships Advisory Board.
